Razorblade Romance

Nayeli Jorgon is crazy. At least, that's what she thinks everyone else is thinking. Perhaps that's the worst part about it - everyone looks at her, and just keeps on looking. She can't decide whether she's flattered, insulted, or whether she should be furious - because, to be honest, their eyes all tell her the same horrendous thoughts that she, herself keeps thinking.

You're a failure, Nayeli.

I'm so, so sorry, Nayeli. You're just not good enough.

You can't do it - so why try?

On top of that, the rejection letters just keep on piling up on the doorstep. Her parents are getting a divorce and, despite being eighteen, she's going to have to live with one of them. The money the government gives her to go to school isn't nearly enough to rent a place and then pay the bills, while trying to keep food in her cupboards (and in her stomach). Her grades are plummetting, she's angry with everyone, and, on top of it all, she's starting to get urges to hurt herself - or kill herself. Why? Because she can't handle it any more - and no one, except Steve Connolen, seems to give a damn about her and her sanity.

And that leaves the questions that keep piling up and up, because she can't find any answers to them. What does Steve want with her? Friendship, or something more? Is it another bet? Should she tell him to bugger off?

So, with only one thing left to keep her from crumbling completely, Nayeli jumps to her only piece of happiness. To the only thing she can, almost, completely control. Her writing. Her character. Her perfect little Lilith, her handsome Lucifer, her tragically pathetic and fragile Zachariah, her shady Destiny, and all those others. She disappears into the world she created, the world she wishes she belonged to - because then, finally, things would be simple.

But is it enough?

Welcome to Razorblade Romance, the story of Nayeli Jorgon (and her characters).

I own none of the pictures I have used - I found them all on Google.
Each picture represents the story beside which it is seen.
The actress in the last picture Isla Fisher - she's how I view Nayeli Jorgon.
